Write content with style

Your content writing style is what differentiates you from other writers. It’s not that style is the only thing that matters; unless your content contains substance, something of relevance, no style is going to make an impact for you. Style only comes when you have something worth saying.

Writing content with style doesn’t mean using pyrotechnic language when you’re writing: writing content with style means writing using your inner voice. When you write using your inner voice it instills a sense of conviction into your writing. Conviction helps you convey your message forcefully and the message delivered forcefully certainly makes an impact. Again, nothing matters without substance and meaning.

So how do you find that substance and meaning and then apply your individual style onto it? The famous author Arundhati Roy once said, write only when you have got something to say. If you haven’t got anything to say you will only write meaningless sentences. By doing this you lose credibility and respect of your readers.

But how can you always have something to say? For that you need to remain informed. Your mind is like a processing machine; you need to feed it with something in order to get something out of it. If you don’t feed your mind it remains inactive. You can feed your mind by reading other people’s thoughts and by interacting with them on a regular basis. This interaction has to be focused. Suppose you are an SEO copywriter and all the conversations that you do with your friends and colleagues are concerning Hollywood gossip then you hardly have anything to write about SEO copywriting.

You can only develop your individual writing style if you are comfortable with your topic. For that you need to read constantly and interact with people who are involved with your topic.
