Use Subheads to Make Your Writing More Effective
Dec 06, 2006

Subheadings are shorter than headings and they’re used to break big chunks of text into smaller texts. Brian on his blog has an excellent post on How to Write Exquisite Subheads. I’m familiar with such writing because I’ve written lots of online articles for other websites (and for my own websites too) and this how I normally organize the content of my articles.
A great benefit of using the subheads is that you get to highlight even the smaller benefits of what you are trying to promote through your copy. Another preferred way is using lists and bullets but normally people skip them too. But headings are hard to skip and used properly, they have an ability to capture attention. Use them to keep your readers hooked to your writing, and use them to make you writing more scannable.
