The Ultimate Guide to Linkbaiting
Feb 06, 2007
And Andy Hogan has compiled it on his Tropical SEO blog. In a post titled Linkbaiting explained I had talked about what it means, and one of the proceeding posts I had written I don’t pay much heed to the linkbaiting din. I think I should. It’s high time I started doing some work on this side of blog marketing.
Andy says:
Of course, it’s (linkbaiting) also the most cost- and time-efficient way of building relevant, trusted, editorially-given backlinks; it’s the critical success factor in getting ranked in Google for competitive keywords; and, it’s making smart SEOs a veritable boatload of money.
It’s true. When I was promoting my web designing business I used to promote my link by submitting free articles to various websites, although my targeting was wrong. I got tons of traffic, but not the kind of traffic I needed to run the business.
Incidentally you must have noticed a slowing of posts on my blog. That’s because (not at the moment, due to gross time-mismanagement) I too am thinking about focusing more on link-worthy quality and less on the quantity. Once I’m able to sort out my time-table I’ll try to strike a balance between quality and quantity.
