The Cool Kid’s Guide to Blogging in 2007
Jan 01, 2007
In my response to writing 6 predictions for 2007 Liz has written a very cool post tilted The Cool Kid’s Guide to Blogging in 2007 where she tells what cool bloggers are going to do or be in 2007. My best part of her post is
If you want to be a cool kid in blogging in 2007, it isn’t hard to do — just keep a couple of things in mind. No one makes the blogosphere run and no one needs to make that sure it does. Being helpful, not hypeful still wins respect, and respect is still how relationships thrive.
Through her blog, instead of posting continuous streams of ”updates” or “tricks” she focuses on readers and on how meaningful relationships can be developed with them. This is the true, long-lasting strength of this medium called blogging. It’s for developing communities.
Blogging is like a community of people interacting through their open balconies. Occasionally they visit each others’ balconies for closer interactions. Reminds me of an old colony I used to live in as a kid with my parents. We had small houses but spacious balconies, and since everybody knew everybody, we could talk to almost all the neighbors from our balconies.

Amrit,
Thank for this challenge. I would never have gone without the nudge from you. We need each other to get better, be smarter, grow as people. You made me better, because you made think thoughts and explore ideas I would not have. I am grateful.

Hi Liz.
We grow smarter when we are receptive towards each other and that’s how we grow as individuals. You are right that we all need each other to get better. Your blog is a continuous source of not only wisdom, but inspiration too and I learn a lot from it. I hope this new year I meet lots of wonderful people like you and am able to contribute in my own little ways.
