Social Linking Via StumbleUpon

Feb 02, 2007

I have neither used linkbaiting nor social media bookmarking websites up till now simply because I’m not writing as regularly and as well as I would like to. I know, I know, I wouldn’t suggest you to have such an attitude, but I’m not in a great hurry to boost my traffic. I want it to increase on its on, gradually. To produce quality content I need some time, and time is something that right now I don’t have.

Most of my time these days goes in developing a PHP application for a client, and writing content for other clients. I’m trying to outsource the writing work (at least preparing the rough drafts) so that I can devote some quality time to ContentBlog. With some good content, I’ll be able to promote my blog with confidence.

In a blog post titled Build Super Links and Traffic With StumbleUpon Loren at Search Engine Journal has explained how he leverages StumbleUpon to get relevant traffic to his blog by submitting selected posts to it. StumbleUpon is a social link “recommending” service where you can “stumble upon” interesting links.

Social media bookmarking websites should be an integral part of your long-term link-building campaign. Although I doubt if traffic from these websites can generate some good business for you but they are a good way of exposing your website and blog to thousands of new people and they in turn may expose your link further.
