Slow Internet Speed Can Sometimes Be A Handicap

Dec 27, 2006

Snail Speed

Especially when there’s a lot in your mind and you just want to do things. Although I have the so-called “broadband” connection, most of the time it’s a very “narrowband” connection. They are supposed to be giving me I think 256 kbps (or Kbps, I don’t know).

Slow surfing speed becomes a big deterrence when you want to do speed-reading and you’ve assigned a limited slot to it. For instance, for an hour I’d like to read some new topics on SEO or copywriting but if it takes good 2-3 minutes to load every individual page, I’m going to spend lots of time just loading the pages. I’ve got the fastest domestic connection our ISP provides and after this the only option I’ve got is the “business” connection that costs more than double the amount I’m paying now. I think I’ll upgrade by the end of February — I’ll have enough money by then.

    Dear Amrit,
It is always a nice & unique experience to read your articles.
‘Informative & to the point’ what I would like to call them. I am a novice content & copy writer by profession & a frequent Internet surfer by nature. In this populated world of Internet, it was not easy to maintain one’s individual identity. But you simply did this. I really want to be like you.
    Best regards
    Smriti
