Should Internet Marketers Know How to Design Websites?
Dec 04, 2006

To an extent they should. I mean, they don’t have to be professional web developers capable of deploying e-commerce solutions, but knowing about important tags and how they should be used and where they should be placed and how it affects their search engine rankings certainly give you an edge. They should attend at least one orientation program to appreciate the nuances of web designing and development.
Kian on her Blogpreneur blog has expressed somewhat similar thoughts. I can relate to it very well because I’ve spent a few years developing websites and it’s only now I have started looking at SEO and Internet marketing seriously. I haven’t been optimizing websites and doing Internet marketing at a professional level (professional level is, when people start paying you for the service you render) but knowing how to design web pages does help a lot.
