On being a content writer
Sep 08, 2005
Yesterday someone asked me what is so great in being a content writer, especially when I had a good grip over my web designing and web programming business? After all, my current occupation is wrought with a plethora of uncertainties. Switching over to a new business (content writing) from an old and established business (web designing & development) does seem like a decision not very prudent. Was it a bad decision? I don’t think so, and I’m not being emotional, sentimental about this. I became a content writer after taking the following facts into consideration:
- I have confidence in my ability as a writer in general and content writer in particular;
- I recognize the worth of good content for every business;
- Gradually people have begun to give more importance to what is written on their websites and so they don’t mind paying a specialist content writer;
- Very quickly I adopt to new working and living environments;
- I had a backup plan;
- Companies are pumping in billions of dollars to generate and manage readable content;
- I have a general sense of the Internet business
Keeping all this in mind, I don’t think I took a wild decision, considering I have a family to feed and sustain.
