My favorite tasks as a freelance copywriter and content writer
Nov 27, 2006
Rand of SEOmoz has listed his favorite SEO tasks (interestingly theirs an SEO company and their blog post links are not search engine friendly — is it some indication or something?) and this inspired my to list my own favorite tasks as a freelance copywriter and content writer.
Generating content for my website and blog
I love to write. I know it’s a cliched expression but that’s a fact. When it comes to work-related writing, especially for the purpose of generating content for my content writing and copywriting website and for this blog. It’s just now that I have started doing it with greater regularity but whenever I do it, I’m quite excited.
Trying to get new copywriting and content writing clients
I rarely approach new clients — may be once a year — my new clients contact me through my business website. But they contacting me doesn’t mean they are dieing to give me work. They need all the convincing in the world. So it’s a great satisfaction when I receive an advance from them.
Creating website and blog layouts
Although most of my layouts are not publicly viewable, I love creating new templates and layouts. In fact very soon I’ll create a new section on this blog from where people will be able to download and use my WordPress templates.
Writing content for my clients
OK, this anyway I have to like, but there is nothing like sending the completed document to the client and then receiving a raving review from the client. Sometimes it’s even better than getting paid (OK clients, don’t get any ideas from here).
Well, no wonder I’ve been working alone for more than three years and I’m still as excited as I was those many years ago.
