Infrastructural problem
Jan 03, 2006
In the morning I started with so much energy that I threw water all over my table by mistake. Something or the other kept happening and not a single task was achieved and by the time I could really get into the groove the electricity decided to play truant. There is this problem in the new apartment that although there is 24-hour power backup, if something goes wrong, there is no technician to take care of that problem. This is silly because problems do not happen just during the day. But it proved to be a blessing in disguise.
Alka and I got to enjoy a quite, romantic dinner with Vasu shuffling between our laps. The plug where the refrigerator stands was working. This Diwali we had purchased a tiny decorative lamp. So we pulled the refrigerator’s wire out and instead used it for our lamp. The light was damp but it lit the entire room. We were worried that Vasu would be uncomfortable in the darkness but she was quite cool about the whole thing.
Of course this meant no work. In fact I was working with a client when all this happened. I think from now onwards I should ask for phone numbers too and shouldn’t solely depend on the Internet for communication. Had I had her phone number I could have at least called her.
Anyway, it was a pleasant night.
