Seth Godin, referring to this review of Windows Vista review, has listed a few points to come with good blog posts:
- Choose a topic that is of interest to a broad audience (OK, but then sometimes you have to focus on a niche audience too)
- Use simple language and avoid cryptic jargons
- Keep it short
- Try to change a perspective
To these I would add a few more point:
- Talk to a single person through your post
- Ask questions from your readers as often as you can
- Choose topics that encourage discussion
- Start with a question, end with an answer
