HarperCollins to Promote Event on the BlogHer Network

BlogHer

Literature literally thrives on the blogsphere (or blogosphere — I prefer blogsphere) and it is evident from the way the publishing houses are trying to leverage its reach. I just now discovered this news that HarperCollins is going to use the BlogHer network to promote an event. The release says:

Beginning February 11, HarperCollins will promote the first of nine titles via BlogHer. Three times a month, at least 25 review copies of a new title will be sent to members of the community who request them through BlogHer’s Virtual Book Tour Page, located at http://blogher.org/node/15258. Bloggers are invited to post their reviews and participate in book title discussions on their own blogs and on BlogHer.org, which includes a directory of more than 7,100 blogs.

With a directory of 7,100 blogs, doesn’t it seem to be the biggest blogging network on the Internet? The BlogHer was founded by Elisa Camahort, Jory Des Jardins and Lisa Stone. A long time back I regularly used to read Jory’s blog Pause when she had just left her regular job and was trying to manage on her own and used to share her trials and tribulations on her blog. Incidentally hers was one of the first blogs I linked to, from this blog.

Ah yes the free-with-no-gig-days. I have more direction now, but I do miss when I could blog all day ;) And I seem to recall a black background for this blog. Like the new(?) look.

Hi Jory. Thanks for dropping by and sorry for such a late reply. Yes, I too miss the days when I could simply do what I wanted to…but then, I appreciate this time of “busy-ness” too

I’m afraid I never had a black background, but you are right about the new look.

    take a look at blogdemic.com
    http://www.blogdemic.com

Blogdemic is a new service that allows blogs to trade imps, base on related topics etc.

Blogdemic can dynamically/automatically create your advertising banner using your RSS feed and we also allow our users to setup default tags (like google adsense) to be disable along with our blog users tags (you can set the percentage)
