Handle Corporate Blogs With Care
Dec 14, 2006
A Business Week article says companies should handle corporate blogs with care. I think that goes without saying because anything “corporate” or “business” comes with its own baggage of legalities and risks of litigations. The article begins with a cautionary note:
A Weblog can be a powerful marketing tool, but it can also expose a business to a legal minefield. Any company considering one should proceed with caution.
Now, this advise can be applied to all the fields where many of financial interest is involved. The article lists the benefits too, of corporate blogging, in the beginning:
Through blogs, companies can market products and services, and make important strides toward building goodwill and brand loyalty. Companies can also use blogs as an effective means of communication by putting a human face on the corporation, countering negative publicity, and facilitating communications with current and potential customers.
Nicely expressed. Hey, you can use this to create pitch for your next corporate blogging gig :-).
