Don’t Just Read, Write Too
Jan 26, 2007
This is a problem faced by non-blogging writers too, but non-blogging writers, most often, are paid writers and sooner or later they have to turn in their work. A big problem with most of the bloggers is that they read a lot about how to “blog successfully” but rarely write themselves.
Here’s a valuable tip: every blog is unique. So success formula for one blog doesn’t necessarily work on another. Visit other blogs for ideas, interactions and insights (make that “things to link to”) but don’t waste too much time reading the how-to’s. You’ve got limited time so use it productively.
Let’s say you’ve assigned two hours to blogging, everyday. Assign more than an hour to writing, and the remaining to reading. And, as the saying goes on the Internet, scan, don’t read, unless it is VERY important and you have to assimilate every single word of the stuff you are reading. If you are not used to, then develop the habit.
Happy writing!

I spent numerous houres on reading blogs about blogging since I started writeing about it.
I agree taht every single blog is unique and people often want to get some “golden-rulez” about blogging, as we know there are no rulez like that

Hi Fanatyk.
There is reading, and then there is reading. I used to read a lot too, but then I gradually realized, your blogging time is better spent writing.
