Does Geography Affect the Way You Blog
Dec 09, 2006
I posted a comment at The Blog Herald for a post titled Does Geography Make a Difference but apparent they have some server issue because my comment was not saved. So I’ve decided to write a small post on the issue. I guess the new owners of The Blog Herald are from the Philippines so people are naturally wondering how this is going to affect the editorial content of this well-known blog originally started by Duncan Riley.
Some effect is obviously going to be there. There’s certainly going to be a new perspective regarding what is covered and what is not. There is going to be more “internationalization” and I think blogging trends emerging in other parts of the world will too be highlighted — I mean, that’s what I think.
Other than that people shouldn’t worry about the quality of the content. The great benefit of being online is that wherever there is connectivity, you can reach people. So even someone writing from the south pole can be immediately read by someone from the north pole. It hardly matters where a person is located. As long as you write what people want to read, you could be working from the hut of an Amazonian tribe whose members live naked.
