Continuous Blog Marketing is a Must
Jan 29, 2007
Quality content is not enough, says Angelo at The Blog Herald to make your blog a successful blog. The post refers to Ahmed’s post at Tech Soapbox where Ahmed says that your blog becomes successful due to lots of other factors and I totally agree. Angelo says:
once you build up interest in your material, and once you get to start a community around your blog, then the following and the readership will be there. It could take a handful of emails to other bloggers and writers, or sometimes leaving comments on other blogs. The point is that along with writing the good stuff, you should also spread the word about your blog.
I often tell my clients that having great content is a significant step in the right direction. Without relevant, well-written content you cannot move forward. But once you have the required content, you need to work on ways to get people to your blog or website, and this might be the hardest job. But I won’t totally agree. Sometimes, it does take just great content to get you tons of traffic, for instance from search engines.
Personally, the promotion of ContentBlog has been nil. I hardly go to other websites and blogs and interact with other similar-minded people. In the past two weeks I’ve may be left comment on just one blog I think. All my traffic at the moment is coming (54%) from search engines. But I know this is not the real time and the nature of such traffic is highly capricious. One does need lots of linkbacks and for the one constantly needs to strive harder and harder. OK, I’m going to do that. I’m going to spam all the blogs I know. Kidding, kidding.
