A Nice Tool to Check Linkbacks

Dec 07, 2006 No Comments »

When we exchange links right and left — and especially if we do link management for different clients — it almost becomes a Herculean task to check if the websites you’ve linked to are linking back to you. There’s a tool called Forward Link Title Tag Tool that lets you check how many websites you are linking to are reciprocating.

Resources for Blog Ideas and Other Information

Dec 02, 2006 No Comments »

Last Saturday Smashing Magazine published a huge list of resources bloggers can use to get the latest buzz going around in the world. This list also contains links to tools and widgets that can help you optimize your blogs and generate more traffic. And through this list I came upon Lorelle’s gargantuan list of blogging and news gathering resources – this list is simply overwhelming. I wonder how much time it took her to glean all those resources.

Using Widgets to Increase Your Traffic

MuseStorm

Pronet Advertising has reviewed a widget called MuseStorm – a widget-creation facility that lets you create content syndication widgets even if you don’t know how to program. Content syndication is a great way of getting traffic from other websites. Once you’ve created your content syndication widget you can track who is using your content and how your content is performing on that blog or website. I would surely like to use such a widget to syndicate the content of my blog but right now I don’t think my content is worth-syndicating. I’ll wait for a while. A long time ago I created a small survey-widget for my client. You just have to copy/paste a JavaScript and you can hold surveys on your website.

Beginner’s Guide to Digg

Nov 30, 2006 No Comments »

Digg

The PronetAdvertising Blog is gradually becoming one of my favorite blogs because one, there topics are so unique, and two, they are so relevant. Take for instance this article titled The Beginner’s Guide to Digg; it is so elaborate that you want to kick-start your Digg-based Internet marketing campaign right on! I haven’t thought much of Digg but the problem with me is that till now I haven’t thought much of many things and the consequences are hurtling down upon me like an avalanche. Like, online marketing — methodical, well-planned and scientific online marketing — has been no where on the map of my future schemes. This is the most essential part of your online existence. I’ve been doing this for my clients but have been lagging far behind when it comes to promoting my own business. But I’m gradually trying to put things back in order and you’ll soon observe some interesting changes :-).

Spokeo

Om Malik has reviewed a new link-sharing social media tool called Spokeo that lets you recommend blogs posts, links and videos to your friends and family. It’s almost like Digg but more interactive and personal.

As Om says, there is so much content available on the Internet that day by day it is becoming harder to decide what to read and what to skip. Tools like Spokeo can help readers make educated decisions in this regard.
