Creating a Successful Blog

Let me state at the outset that, since I don’t yet call my blog a “successful” blog, I cannot claim to be an authority on creating successful blogs. The thing is, I know how to create a successful blog, it’s just that, I haven’t been devoting much, or rather, enough time to blogging. It was only in mid-November that I decided to add at least 3 posts daily. Since then, more or less I’ve been keeping this promise that I made to myself. Anyway, the point is, I have a basic idea of how to create a successful blog, and I’ll be implementing a few things in the coming days/weeks. Here are a few of them:

If you are a copywriter who can write search engine optimized content then you can call yourself an seo copywriter. There are three types of work profiles behind the success of an online business:

1. A web developer/designer
2. An seo expert
3. A copywriter

An seo expert is primarily concerned with the search engine relevance. He or she is more bothered about how well your website ranks in the search engines.

A copywriter, on the other hand, is concerned more about the message the reader is going to read. He or she wants to write the copy in a manner that influences the reader and incites actions like buying or subscribing or hiring.

Virtual Hosting Vs. Dedicated Hosting

I was doing some SEO-related research and read in a forum that search engines prefer websites hosted on dedicated IP addresses. Since all my websites are hosted on virtual hosts (virtual host means shared hosting where many webmasters share a single IP address) I was a bit worried after reading that. So I did some more search and found this post on virtual hosting vs. dedicated hosting on Matt Cutts’ blog. There he quotes a Slashdot interview with Craig Silverstein, Google’s Director of Technology who says:

If your ISP does virtual hosting correctly, you’ll never see a difference between the two cases. We do see a small percentage of ISPs every month that misconfigure their virtual hosting, which might account for this persistent misperception.
