Blog of the week - Copyblogger
Nov 20, 2006 No Comments »

From this Monday onwards, every Monday I’ll be selecting a blog for you that you can read for the whole week. My criteria for choosing the blog would be:
- Content quality
- Frequency
- What, and how much you can learn from it
I’m not bothered about how much traffic a blogger gets or whether he belongs to the A-list, B-list or some other list. My main focus will remain on quality, persistent quality.

I would like to start with Brian’s Copyblogger. Even if I don’t visit the blog everyday, I surely visit it 4-5 times every week. He has some really great tips to share with you on copywriting and blogging, although he has it on his blog that he’s not a copywriter for hire. I don’t exactly remember how I stumbled upon his blog, but I do remember I started re-writing my blog after reading Copyblogger and a couple of other blogs.
Brian speaks with authority without overwhelming you, and I think this is a great quality. Another great thing is he leads by example. In merely 10 months more than 6000 visitors had subscribed to his RSS feed which in itself is phenomenal. I’ve been blogging for more than 3 years and if you can see the number of my RSS subscribers you’ll laugh :-). His readers adore him and some even idealize him.
Recently he joined b5media – a group of highly successful bloggers. I think the frequency of his posts has decreased since then but there could be some other reason too.
It seems I’ve written more about Brian and less about Copyblogger, but I think a blog is merely an extension of the blogger — so whatever he or she is gets reflected on the blog. And in fact, this is the true nature of a blog. But do read Copyblogger if you are not already doing so: you’ll feel enriched. Even if you are not directly involved with copywriting and content writing, you’ll learn a lot about how to express yourself with conviction.
