Business blogging for customers and clients

Sep 28, 2006

Business blogging doesn’t necessarily have to be about your business. A good business blog mostly caters to the communication needs of customers and clients, and I think this is a very good thing about business blogging.

Through your business blog if you can convey to your customers and clients how much you care for their well-being you can nurture a loyal audience for your thoughts. Your business blog renders a human face to your business. Your business no longer remains a shady corporate wheeling-dealing spot where profit is the sole purpose of everyday existence.

Another awesome aspect of your business blog is, if people visit it, they do it at their own discretion. You don’t bombard their inboxes with email solicitations. This forces you to keep the content of your business blog compelling enough. And how do you make your business blog content compelling? By publishing what your customers and clients find interesting and useful.

A vibrant blog nurtures a community of commenters. This gives you a chance to interact with your customers and clients and observe their behavioral dynamics. They can directly give you feedback and help you improve your product or service before it costs you millions in damages.

Your business blog may not affect your bottom line overnight but it is a communication tool your company can ill-afford to ignore. If managed with a clear purpose, your business blog can become your strongest brand-building and trust-building asset.
