Anil Dash’s Interview
Dec 05, 2006
The Blog Herald has just published an interview with Anil Dash of Six Apart, a company behind blogging tools like Typepad, MovableType, Live Journal, and the latest, Vox. In the interview Anil talks about why he loves working at Six Apart and what the real ambitions of the blogging company are.
A few years ago I used to use MovableType. It was free then, and I didn’t stop using it because you needed to pay later on. I found a better alternative in WordPress because it is written in PHP and I can do some manageable coding in PHP. Creating templates for WordPress is quite a lot easier compared to any other blogging tool. But may be MovableType is mostly used by people who just want an out-of-the-box tool that they can simply install and then get on with their writing/publishing lives. Yes, for them WordPress is not good (things should be different when the Enterprise edition of WordPress comes out).
Anil maintains his blog at http://www.dashes.com/anil.
