RSS FeedsAkismet Not Working

Of late I’ve been getting lots of spam. I guess my Akismet plugin is not working. When I noticed an increase in the spam rate I updated Akismet with a latest copy but I’m still getting lots of spam. Is there some better option available?

its not working in mine even. it doesn’t even accept my API key. but i rarely get spam.
