We all aspire to create successful blogs, although everyone defines success his or her own way. For instance, for me, right now, success for ContentBlog means generating more traffic for my content writing and copywriting website and consequently, get more content writing and copywriting assignments. My success would be that I get so much work that even after outsourcing every project I can make enough to focus on other things I want to do.

To be a successful blogger you constantly need to improve your blog, and Lifehacker lists 6 ways to improve your blog and they are somewhat like this:

Display your contact info prominently on your blog. This gives you a “real world” image.
Enable comments on your blog so that your visitors can hold conversations with you and hence can have reasons to keep coming back to your blog.
Format your text in an easy-to-read manner. Make your text easily scannable by writing shorter paragraphs and highlighting the important portions.
Use proper tagging (Technorati tags, for instance) to get more traffic and help people find your posts.
Link to as many useful websites as you can. This makes your blog a good resources and it also tells Google that yours is an extremely active blog.
Stay vibrant by encouraging dialog and providing relevant information to your reader.
