So it goes on

No matter how much experience I gain, some clients still manage to get away with not paying for the content I’ve written for them. It happens rarely (for there ARE clients who love to pay) but it does happen. My wife suggests I should start a page where I list the names of the clients who don’t pay, along with their websites and email addresses so that other service providers stay away from them and people who plan to do business with them have an inkling that they are not to be trusted. But this is not a good policy and it may scare away even the good-intentioned clients to avoid any future, ineluctable trouble. So I’ll never do that.
I strictly take an advance before starting the work. Sometimes the client pays the advance, receives the completed work, and appraises it full-heartedly. It’s only when I ask for the remaining amount that all of a sudden the great work becomes “it isn’t what I had thought of.” Most that don’t pay just stop responding.
I’m gradually devising another way of delivering content.
